buy the stars 'do you trust your friends?' album.
"A collection of re-mixes, re-interpretations and re-imaginings of Set Yourself on Fire. Would you let your friends redecorate your apartment, or do your homework for you? Would you let them buy your clothes or groceries? Would you leave them in charge of your kids? And if you did, what would they change? Does one of them secretly think you wear too much blue, or eat too much yogurt? If you let them rearrange your house, would they just slap a new coat of paint on the wall, or would they gut the whole damn place and start again? If you made a pop record, and then gave it to them to make again, what would they do to it?"
you won't be disappointed.

so break is over. it was great. 9 days without school and work, spending time with family and those i love. ahh. sunday night i had to get working for school. it wasnt so great that i absolutely ignored every one of my assignments. but its ok, im about all caught up now. and i have an 8pg paper due sooner than id like, but thats life.
i just cannot wait till summer. spring break gave me a great taste of what id be like.
i declared my major, yay? now i have to pick a second major..oops. well, not for awhile.
anywho, life is good. tres good.
im applying for an internship this week, among 938420384 other things going on in my life. for 9 days that chaos stopped, and it was truly enjoyable. but no one ever got anywhere in life on break, except like cancun. that made no sense, but either way, sure, i coulda made a buncha money working full time, but the time off was indeed priceless. i actually had a day that i spend almost entirely in bed. then i walked around hoboken at night in a SHORT SLEEVES. thats how pretty it was, till it snowed.
life is random, at best. and i kinda like it. i find something routine in all of the chaos and randomness. i kinda like it.
did i mention that i did exceptionally well on my midterms?
go me. go life.

ALL I REALLY NEED TO KNOW I LEARNED IN KINDERGARTEN
(a guide for Global Leadership)
All I really need to know about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sand pile at school.
These are the things I learned: Share everything. Play fair. Don't hit people. Put things back where you found them. Clean up your own mess. Don't take things that aren't yours. Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody. Wash your hands before you eat. Flush. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you. Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some. Take a nap every afternoon. When you go out in the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together. Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: the roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that. Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup - they all die. So do we. And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK. Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation. Ecology and politics and equality and sane living.
Take any one of those items and extrapolate it into sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or your work or government or your world and it holds true and clear and firm. Think what a better world it would be if we all - the whole world - had cookies and milk at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon and then lay down with our blankies for a nap. Or if all governments had as a basic policy to always put things back where they found them and to clean up their own mess.
And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out in the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.

thanks to mom for feeding my coffee addiction and reloading my starbucks card.
its definitely up there on the nyc resident necessities, along with a heavy duty umbrella, comfortable walking shoes, metro card, and a heavy duty bag. if you lived in new york city, you'd understand too.
